Pressure Canning

Pressure Canning can be a little intimidating, but USU extension specialist Jana Darrington will cover everything you need to know to help you feel comfortable when it’s time to start canning. The class will cover pressure canning basics as well as vegetables and meats.

2-3 Championship Spit Off


Come spit a pit for the Underwood family. Cost is $1 to compete, free to watch. You must qualify between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The top ten men and women spitters will then have a championship "spit-off" to find our top three winners for both men and women. There will also be prizes award for the top children's spitter in each age category.

There will also be a raffle basket full of awesome prizes. When you buy a $1 raffle ticket, you also get a free appetizer card from Texas Roadhouse (good for the first 60 people).

Cooking With Dry Beans

Using your food storage beans is a great way to stretch food dollars, create flavorful dishes, and increase fiber in your diet.

Come and learn the basics of selecting, soaking, and cooking dry beans in a pressure cooker and slow cooker and using dry beans to make hummus, soups, casseroles and reduced fat quick breads and cookies. Join Karin Terry from Honeyville Grain as she teaches new ways to use old beans!
